Elizabeth Bailey's love for childhood innocence is evident in her portrait work. Considering artistic and technical aspects, she uses the camera to capture a glimpse of that innocence on film. She wants to be known for her tender, relational images of her subjects. As a full time mother of two young children, with years of experience in child-related fields, she is in tune to the needs of both child and mother. During sessions, children are encouraged to be themselves and do what they do naturally-explore, play and relate. Her highest compliment is when parents tell her that the final portrait reflects the soul of their child.
She says: "Much of what I do is born from a spontaneous moment- a cozy snuggle between siblings, a child's curious expression, a loving bond between mother and baby. Capturing that emotion creates a timeless piece that leaves a lingering visual fragrance for the viewer."
Elizabeth is a member of state VPPA and the national PPA organizations, which raise the bar on photographic standards of excellence. These associations provide inspiration for her work through seminars, classes and conventions as well as opportunities to brush up on the latest, state of the art techniques. Because natural lighting can be beautiful if used properly, it is the sole source of light for her portrait art.
